A - Question & Answers related to our Product:

 

Question – 1:  What is the maximum span before middle posts are required?

      Answer:  Our engineering testing supports maximum spans of 8’ with pickets and 6’ with glass.  Spans beyond this will need a middle post to comply with the engineering testing.

Q - 2:  How tall is the railing and posts?

      A:  The railing is designed to be 42” high off of the deck surface.  The post is slightly taller than this to support the railing.

Q - 3:  What is the warranty policy?

     A:  The railing is covered for twenty years against any material defects for the original purchaser.  Making a warranty claim will  require proof of purchase and evidence of a claim.  Approved claims will have defective product replaced with new. The warranty does not cover installation.

Q - 4:  Is there an additional charge for colors?

     A:  There is no additional charge for our five standard colors.  The current colors are white, black and beige with a gloss finish.  Taupe and yard bronze come in a textured finish.

Q - 5:  How tall is the glass and what sizes are available?

     A:  The glass is designed to be fit between the top and bottom rail.  The actual size of the glass is 35 7/8” high by 1/4” thick.  Glass widths are inventoried from 6” to 66” in 3” increments.

Q - 6:  How tall are the pickets?

      A:  The pickets for the 42” rail are designed to be fit between the top and bottom rail.  The actual picket height is approximately 36 5/8”.  The stair pickets are approximately 29 3/4” to accommodate the shorter requirements for stair applications.

Q - 7:  Are fasteners included with each component?

      A:  Fasteners are sold as a separate part by the box.

Q - 8:  Is it possible to special order any custom colors?

      A:  All of our warehouses inventory all parts in all standard colors.  It is not possible to order custom colors.

Q - 9:  What are the dimensions of the posts?

      A:  The post body is 2 1/4” square with a 4” base plate.

Q - 10:  How wide is the gate and what comes with it?

       A:  The complete gate is designed to fill a 48” opening.  The gate itself is 44”.  It comes with hinges and a spring latch which each take up 2”.  Screws are ordered by the box and come separately.

Q - 11:  Are custom sizes available outside the standard 42” height?

        A:  Our core business is a modular 42” railing system.  It may be possible to customize some components to make the rail height shorter. This should be discussed with our customer service department to make sure that the product can be customized to meet your needs.

Q - 12:  What is the wind rating?

        A:  The glass has been wind load tested to 150 mph.  This testing is available for your building department on request.

Q - 13:  Can I see a sample of the product?

        A:  We provide displays to our retailers.  The retailer you are dealing with can show you a sample of our product.

Q - 14:  Can a representative come and measure my deck?

        A:  Our company is a wholesaler and does not have the manpower to provide this type of service.  The retailer you are working with may have an installs division that provides this type of service.  Alternatively, the store may be able to provide a list of local contractors.

 


B - Questions & Answers regarding Ordering the product:

 

Question - 1:  How do I know what materials to order?

     Answer:  Our office provides a complimentary quotation service.  Submit a clear drawing with the shape and dimensions of your project.  Our quotation department can provide a material list and diagram for your specific needs.

Q - 2:  How long will it take for my order to arrive?

     A:  Orders should arrive at the store you are working through within two weeks.

Q - 3:  Can you ship directly to my address?

     A:  We prefer to ship directly to the retailer you are dealing with.  The retailer will have a professional receiver who will know how to handle shipping damage or missing packages.

Q - 4:  Can I order directly through your company?

      A:  Our company is a wholesaler.  We sell our products directly to hardware and building supply stores.  We do not sell directly to home owners or contractors.

Q - 5:  Where will my order be shipped from?

      A:  We have two warehouses in Canada.  They are in Ontario and British Columbia.  We have three warehouses in the United States.  They are in California, Washington and North Carolina.

Q - 6:  What are your prices?

      A:  Our company is a wholesaler.  The pricing would depend on the hardware or building material store you are dealing with.
